A message from the chair Banstead U3A was founded in 1985.
It s objective is to be a university in the original sense a community of
people sharing interests and enthusiasms. No qualifications are required
and none are given. We aim to fulfill a gap by
providing accessible and stimulating opportunities for self development at
a stage in life when people can expect to have a little more time for
expanding their interests. We have a wide range of over
forty groups studying
a wide variety of interests such as languages, various arts
and crafts, reading groups, science, social studies, philosophy, aspects
of history, bridge, computing, table tennis, scrabble, walking and many
more. Most groups meet in people's homes, but some
larger groups meet in local halls. Each year we hold four open meetings when we invite speakers to speak to
us on a range of topics. This year marks our 25th anniversary and we are
arranging a number of events to mark the
achievement.
